The celebration of the Mass is the best expression of our relationship with God the Father through the saving activity of the Son in the power of the Holy Spirit. Catholics believe that Jesus is present in the community assembled for worship, in the priest presiding in Christ’s name, in the proclamation of Sacred Scripture, and most especially in the Eucharist, the bread and wine which become the most holy Body and Blood of Jesus, our spiritual food. The Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion) completes Christian initiation, along with Confirmation. Participating worthily in Holy Communion (that is, being properly prepared and disposed for this Sacrament) transforms us in the love of Jesus: we become what we eat. ________________________________ To have your child prepared to receive First Holy Communion (typically in second grade), please contact the St. Jude or St. Edward Faith Formation Office. Children must be enrolled in first grade or later to start the process.
Are you an adult member of our community who has not yet received First Holy Communion? Please call the parish office.
